Although I have only played this game on Super Nitendo (Super Metroid) this game kicks ass..I can't wait to see the Gamecube verison with revamped graphics :D

Umm im assuming there going to have better graphics on Gamecube then on super nitendo...

GC metroid is going to be a FPS.. and yes, the graphics pwn everything from the screenshots

the metroid for the GC is going to suck they are completely changing the format from a side scrolling action/RPG, to a first person shooter. I believe that it will be horrible although the graphics will be very good as you pointed out. I really cannot see any good coming from Samus with a first person perspective when all of the others were side scrolling. If it was like the link's for the N64 it had posibilities of maybe being okay but that ruined castlevania so who knows.

I read on Gamespot that its only going to be 30% FPS. Dont know how the hell a game can only be 30% of a genre but I'll take Gamespots word thats its not going to be all shooting.
