I kno its an old game(and most of u prolly never played it b4), but it was prolly my fav game on n64. The graphics were decent and it allowed variety for a lot of strats and combinations. My fav char was jigglypuff :D , most peeps though jigglypuff was weak sh*t but i showed em ^ ^

this was my favorite n64 game, and i still play it. oh, jigglypuff wasn't all that great... i may suck at d2, but i can pwn joo all with pikachu on ssb. MUHAHAHA

lol.. i used to play that game. i was damned good with Mario and the Pokemon. i played the 2nd one for gamecube but i just suxed. The first one is better :D

Jigglypuff > all other chars cept falcon

My key combo was jump down+A then up+A smash. major dmg, hehe. We had a SSB tourny at our hs and i got 3rd place. Too bad it was free for all with items and the finals was 3 pikachu's vs 1 jigglypuff (me). They all ganged up on me and even though i got the most kills, i lost.

SSBM was too fast. The fighting didnt seem like fighting and the stages werent really good either. There arent ne big stages where u can just simple FIGHT like fox's stage. Also the charged up smash attacks made the controls a bit hard to use. Jigglypuff was also toned down a bit (the combo didnt work nemore).

i've never played the newer version, #1 cuz i have no gamecube, #2 cuz the first one is just fine and dandy for me.

with my pikachu, i set all 3 other computer players on difficulty 9 teamed against me, and i roxxored there soxxors

It takes no skill for a pikachu user. Just keep on pressing "R" and keep on throwing ur opponent. And when he tries to jump back, time his forward smash and u win. Too easy.

Against 3 lvl 9 comps, it really depends on which chars u play and which stage u play on. For example 3 lvl 9 links r very powerful. But on the Fox stage, if u hit em down on the tail, they wont be able to climb up (cause they're too stupid to use his spin attack), so all u gotta do is just to fight one at a time which is beyond easy.

Cant edit... but anyway in melee there are is a really pointless char: Pichu..I mean the fucking thing hurts itslef every time it does an attack! One Charged Up Smash hit with a big char (Ganondorf, Bowser,Dk) will send the thing flying for an almost instant ko..
Most of my Characters Of Choice are from the old version..except for a few times with Bowser and Ganondorf:D
My Best char in the whole game is Marth though..Marth Pwn Roy:)
I like the idea of the "Clones" A little bit..its nice to see Fox and Falco :D And The Trophy Idea is interesting ..:)

-Link, my first, and one of the best all rounders I reakon.

-Jigglypuff, played for a while a liked, but didn't play enough to be any good with it.

-Donkey Kong, best if you are going for a team battle, but not very good for solo.

-Samus, mario, luigi were all a little too, I dunno, steriotypical? Anyhow, they are ok, but didn't appeal greatly.

-Pichu in my opinion was the no-brainer of the game.

-Captain Falcon suxor.

I haven't played it for ages, and my lil siblings have practically destroyed all 4 controllers, so I don't think I'll be playing it for a while...

Pickachu Suxxors..the only good pokemon in super smash is MewTwo (I worked hard to unlock him :D ) and Fox's Victory Dance Roxxors..:)

Im pro w/ jigglypuff. Her taunt is sooo damn annoying that i just had to pick her ^ ^. In the first one, her throw was one the the best in the game (back throw). Also she was one of the fastest at close up. Her jump down+a can only be avoided by two ways: by either timing ur up smash perfectly (hard) or by rolling outta the way. If u blocked, i throw. If u dont do nething, i hit and combo u for major dmg. If u timed ur up smash, i jump one more time and attack during ur cooldown. If u rolled outta the way, i foward smash and usually connect. In melee jigglypuff is still pretty good. Her rollout's worthless but her pound still kicks ass. Her foward smash is WAY better in melee.

ps: pikachu sux in melee cause throws suck in melee.

ssb the puff was by far the best I know I am Kirby but lets face it he kinda sucked in ssb and melee. The thing is though I actually like Melee better because there aren't as many cheap combo's and things like that, it's basically a completely different game, the fighting, the tactics everything is very different. In the original for 64 I have a friend that with Ness if he hit you once you were dead just because of an infinate combo. Also there wasn't much strategy like someone said all they did with everyone is jump press down and a then up and a that worked with just about everyone. That is why I like melee better

Pichu isn't pointless he's fast, he can combo and he's damn powerful, one charged up smash may kill him by the big guys, but they usually can't touch him he's too damn small and fast, you just gotta learn how to use Pichu he's no walk in the park, And I agree that there is a useless char but it's not Pichu it's Mew two his smashes do no damage, he's slow, his moves set himself up to get hurt (forwad and B) and he flies too easily

I have not played this Melee game that you speak of.. but Pikachu kicks booty in the N64 game. I have decided that Kirby coolies as well. Muhahaha.. **mumblemumble** rock smash thing.. **mumblemumble**

Yeah, I just kind of take kirby in the 64 game and jump and hit down B. I think that's the rock smash? Promptly after executing the move, you must yell "DO YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK. IS. COOKING." You must yell this after every rock smash.

*note* For those of you like myself that only know the rock smash move, be prepared for some annoyed friends.

In melee I use ice climbers, who I'm always told are horrible...but see, and maybe my logic isn't so clear to you, if I have TWO guys, and they only have ONE...I should win right? right?

There was strategy to jigglypuff's down and a because people would usually learn to dodge it after a couple of lives by rolling outta the way or just running the hell outta there. Thats y u come at different angles or jump an extra time b4 connecting with down+a. Its not like necros or zons or any other chars use a different skill every duel. They always use the same skill but with different uses for it or at a different angle.

Kirby was damned powerful in SSB. His spike was among the easiest to use and he basically could fly back from any hit. The better combos in the game were actually hard to use. Like falcon's combo: foward throw, jump, foward kick (2 hits), jump again, up kick, then up+b to catch em and throw em away for some major dmg(me and my friend came up with it). It was incredibly hard to do and could only be done with less then 10% or else the char's fly too high.

Ice climbers suck IMHO, each of the char's are really weak and u can easily separate them to finish em off quick. The only reason Ice climbers r cool is because they have WHIRLWIND!!!!! and they have MAULS also. So technically, u have like 2 maul barbs there hehe.

I don't know ice climbers can be okay if you know how to use them. I just hate it when the main char dies and the other goes crazy and kills you. (I got killed by the sister after the brother was dead):(

yeah but the second lives for a little while after the main dies, and in that time it has killed me from going psycho and just whacking everything.
