Does anyone know any linux builds that can recognise onboard RAID configurations? My biggest turnoff for linux is that i cant access 90% of my files, since they are on my RAID config.

I was going to see about downloading the Red Hat ISO's unless someone has a build that could recognise them.. Eiither way I know it's a bitch to get running.

I figure if I can get my RAID recognised, I can work on getting WINEX installed and hopefully go linux for most things :D

I dunno if this will help, but it looks to be a relatively detailed FAQ http://www.faqs.org/contrib/linux-raid/x37.html#AEN62

Have you checked out kernel 2.6 to see whether it's had any improvements over 2.4.x that most distro's use?

Got Redhat 9 installed, uses 2.4 kernel I believe. I can install winex on here, but it will require some fun work. But the bottom line is that linux in general can't write to NTFS partitions, so mounting them is impossible in redhat, and less than perfect in mandrake (mandrake wont recognise RAID). So if I did install my games, I'd have to reinstall them on my linux partiton, and cant access games. so I might as well just stick with XP. Linux is fun to have though.

Next time you're in OTF chat and a guy named MadMerlin shows up, ask him. He seems to be fairly cluey when it comes to Mandrake Linux.
